The Storyline is truly a FIRST for Florida

You probably never thought you would be going to a ski resort when visiting Walt Disney World, did you. The story line of this detail-oriented water park is that there was a legendary snowstorm in Florida that prompted a group of locals to build a ski resort. When Florida’s weather returned back to its normal temperatures, the snow melted and that is how Blizzard Beach came to be!

Fun Fact! Did you know that the first chairlift in Florida was built at Blizzard Beach?

To keep with the authenticity of the theming, Disney Imagineers built a ski lift to give guests a bird’s eye view of the water park and easy access to many of their bigger water attractions, including Summit Plummet.

The water slides and rides literally broke records!

Look at this guy’s face! He’s thinking “wait, I changed my miiiiiiiinnnnnddd!”

Blizzard Beach is home to a record-breaking water slide called Summit Plummet. This 120 ft waterslide with an almost 90-degree angle drop is an adrenaline junkies dream! Sliding down, you reach speeds of up to 65 mile per hour so it is definitely not for the faint of heart.

If you are looking for something a bit more relaxing, check out Cross Country Creek. It is one of the longest lazy rivers in the country at 300 ft long! A complete float along the water way will take you about 20-30 minutes and it encompasses the entire park. No matter what kind of experience you are looking for, Blizzard Beach has it all!

The food is so fun!

Mmmm… nachos! My mouth is WATERING! Haha get it?! Cause we’re talking about a water park? Okay… I’ll stop.

Blizzard Beach has a variety of great food and drinks from classic Disney snacks to water park exclusives. One of my personal favorites is the loaded nachos from Avalunch. It’s a perfect portion to share between two people and saves some room for a yummy drink! Speaking of drinks, if you head over to the Polar Pub, make sure to grab a Pina CoLAVA to cool you down on a hot Florida day! So worth it!

We know we’ll be some of the first to be back as soon as the park reopens in March 2021! To keep up with this developing story and any of our other Foxy Adventures, make sure that you follow us on Instagram and Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube channel
